I have seen the best advocates of my generation
staggering through Queens Park for a fix
of false access hope from politicians,
still in denial they are treated like hicks.
I have seen decades of community support
squandered–and hope and trust and more–
thrown away by those with the power
who laugh at voters behind closed doors.
I have seen the law thrown out the window
by politicians our silence has enabled.
The law means nothing, lets be honest,
if you are a person who is disabled.
