At Wanda’s Pie in the Sky bakery and café in Torontos Kensington Market, owners Wanda and David Beaver work to create a sense of comfort and belonging for their customers and staff. Its why the owners have a policy to hire workers with disabilities, incorporating both hospitality and inclusion into the business.
Artistic swimming, formerly called synchronized swimming, is a dynamic sport that requires not only physical fitness but also grace, poise, and confidence. This unique sport has team, duet, and solo events, allowing athletes of all abilities to take part. In this article, we feature a Toronto club that offers programs for athletes with disabilities. The Toronto Synchro Athletes with Disabilities Program gives swimmers with disabilities the chance to discover artistic swimming and develop their skill in the sport.
The Shelley Gautier Para-Sport Foundation helps Ontarians with disabilities stay active in their communities through para cycling.
The foundation is named for its honorary chairperson, Paralympic athlete Shelley Gautier. Gautier, a globally renowned Para cyclist, competed in the 2012 and 2016 Paralympic games. Her foundation gives people with disabilities across and beyond Ontario the chance to be involved in recreational sports. Participants can enjoy a healthy lifestyle, travel around their communities, and meet new people while they learn a new sport or rediscover an old one.

SUMMARY
Today, the Federal Government proclaimed the Accessible Canada Act in force. It was recently passed by the House of Commons and Senate and was given Royal Assent. The law comes into force when the Federal Cabinet so orders. In a news release earlier today, set out below, the Cabinet proclaimed it in force.

SUMMARY
Today, 21 respected disability organizations and groups, reflecting a diverse spectrum of different disabilities, have united to send Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford an open letter, set out below. It calls on the Ford Government to announce a plan to implement the final report by former Ontario Lieutenant Governor David Onley, of his Independent Review of the implementation and enforcement of Ontario’s accessibility law, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
